CPO Design & Mamemarqees question
« on: June 15, 2005, 03:28:21 pm »
I've tried getting a hold of Scott at Mamemarquees a couple times over the past five days but he hasn't gotten back to me. I'm sure he's been busy or is out of town or something. However, I kind of need to get an answer quickly, since my 30 day trial period of Adobe Illustrator is running out in a week.

I'm working on a character collage for my control panel overlay, with each character placed into a honeycomb-type pattern, but each character and background is going to be sized to about an inch and a half in size. With some simple characters it won't be a problem, but with others that have more detail, will this show up well on a printed CPO? Is there a size below which I shouldn't go, to ensure that the images show up on the final overlay? I've spent a bunch of time on it thus far, and I still have more to go, so I don't want to waste any additional time on it if it's not going to be able to print well on the material Mamemarquees uses.

Thank you.

Bottom Line...

If the character has that much detail it probably won't look good that small no matter what resolution the machine.

I got my art back today, and there is some smallish type that I was very worried about. I am happy to say that it reads perfectly. I was amazed at the level of detail that came out in the print.

Nice job on the Gauntlet recreation.

The problem I'm going to have is that I'll need to have my design printed on the adhesive-backed material as opposed to glossy paper. I'm not going to have it under lexan so I need to go with the tougher material. Obviously it'll be more difficult to print it correctly because of the texture of the cpo.

Yeah, I can't comment on the quality of the traditional CPO material. I wouldn't be too worried though, if anyone can print it well, it will be Scott.

Sorry for the poor communicating on this... but I think I got back to you (a couple times) right? The CP with the octagons? It should print up nicely.

Just so you know the family and I are going on Vacation next week... so I will be closing shop on Sunday.  I don't leave till Tuesday so anything purchased before Sunday will be shipped out.  Anything ordered after Saturday will be shipped out the following Monday.  We are camping, so no computers...

You did get back to me. I wrote this post several days ago and my responses a few days ago, before I got your responses yesterday. My Adobe Illustrator trial is coming up in the next week so I was trying to get an answer from others who've used your service. Everyone is raving about you so I'm psyched to get my designs pinned down.
