Loving the community here...
« on: June 14, 2005, 09:49:38 pm »
Hi,

I am new, but I just wanted to say that I love it  here. You guys have always answered all of my questions and RULE, respectively.  I get a funny tickle on the roof of my mouth when I think about running my machine on the 2005 BYOAC tokens.
I can't wait until the next gathering at Funspot, if there will be one.  Here's to you guys and how much you whip @$$!!!

Thanks.

I second that.  Well, except for the nice people, of course.  We all have some degree of "odor" too, but that's for another thread, although those who think they DON'T stink will now feel the need to chime in about how "mebbe it's just you" or "speak for yourself", but they usually are the ones who stink the worst.  They've just gotten used to their own private funk. :P

I dig it here. As we get older and the arcade days are slowly fading in the distance. It's good to find a few keeping it alive. Not everyone can get down the way we do. We are too cool for the room. Now we just have to convince the chicks!  ;)

Actually, at most of my parties the really dedicated gameplayers have all been girls.

Although there is a distinct difference between how girls play and guys play. Girls will get on one machine and play THAT game all night, while guys tend to hop around from game to game.

Let me guess, Bust a move or Puzzle Bobble. Puzzle games. Yeah chicks love to play those. My wife liked that till I kicked her ass at it. I do the hoppin around too. I stay usually with the old school games like Robotron and Karate Champ.

Don't forget Tetris - it's a veritable chick magnet. Like some kind of video game aphrodisiac  :P

Women and men tend to look at marriage the same way they look at games it seems ;)

Yea, i hear ya bro. Soul blade was better.
As for chicks, my wife loves Tempest. The only diffeence is she will play once or twice then want to talk about horses or babies. Me and the boys will get hammerd and have a donkyKong fest for 4 hours.
Nothing brings the 30 somthing crowed together like a retro-gaming fest with beer. (we just need a retro cab insted of a big screen and a cheep glued together game pad). Im working on it.

Any way welcome dude. Folks here are hella freindly unless you spell CHAD or CHD wrong. Then they will hunt you down like a brain sucking zombie with small chunks of rotting meat hanging off their face from the maggots eating their face. (Man I need to lay off the stuff for a while)
They treated me like an animal and that's what I became.
