X-Arcade BYOAK?
« on: June 11, 2005, 07:50:19 am »
Has anyone purchased and/or tried out the X-Arcade Build Your Own Arcade Kit?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=13718&item=6185014752&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

I like how they utilize keywords like "ultimarc", "ipac", and "Build Your Own Arcade" to sell their product.

Haven't tried it.  Have some info at http://www.mameworld.net/tigerheli/encoder/index.htm

BTW, you can get it directly from here: http://www.x-arcade.com/arcade_parts.shtml (And I've heard the direct one includes the USB adapter.)

Off-the-record, I would only get it if you planned to use the console adapter portion of it.

I believe the unit is common +5V instead of common GND, which doesn't matter except that you can't use Perfect 360's or Druin's board with it.

Also have heard anecdotal reports of performance issues, from time to time.
