Hey Timoe,
More specifically, what I'm worried about experience wise is that I haven't touched a Wico Leaf Switch joystick since they were in the arcade boxes when I was a kid. Of course, I didn't really pay attention to them. They were just how I got the guy to move around. Now, many people on this board say that Wico's are the best, bar none. I don't know if that's pure nostalgia or not. Many have explained that it is not and actually affects gameplay. I wouldn't be surprised if most people waiting for the review would be most interested to find out if they're better or at least comparable to the Wico's. I really don't see how I could make that comparison without maybe driving up to KevSteele's place in Cleveland to give the Wico's a shot. Am I forgetting that you don't have them, Kevin? I seem to recall you doing a joystick roundup, but I don't exactly remember the Wico's, since I hadn't visited this forum very much at that time and didn't remember the name as being something special.
Now, I have competition joysticks and super and X-gaming joysticks and I'll definitely say that I would take any of those over the 49 way joysticks for fighting games. The 49 Ways don't have that clicky sound to get my rhythm on for fighting games, it seems. I can do the special moves just fine, but I don't think they feel right. That's really just a personal preference, but maybe something to keep in mind if you're planning on doing a lot of fighting on your cab.
I'm still considering doing the review. It's not like I don't have the time these days.
Cheers,
KenToad
