Well....  That just gave me an idea for a marquee.

I have a few old lightbrights... I could probably cut up the fronts and make them the 'proper size'... Then get some black construction paper... Then make a mame or something out of the pegs (have tons of those also)...

Not sure if the kids would get mad... should probably ask them first...

I have a BetaBrite 213C, it is a one line tri-color indoor LED sign.  I bought this new last November for about $220.  It comes with the original box, software package (for programming from a PC), remote control,  wiring, and power supply.  The manual is online and available at www.betabrite.com. 

I'd be willing to sell, but I'd much rather trade for a Happs analog joystick, or similar.  I am open to suggestion, though.

is it about the same size as a Normal/standard marquee? Im hopefully Building a cabinet this summer  and it would be cool to add something simular like  that to fit... (does it save the information on it after its shut off? and can it be wired through to a single power resource?)

Also, Lilwolf if you go through with the lite bright Idea, It would be great to see... lol

Yes, it's about the same size as a standard marquee.  It's a little shorter than most, though.  I'll get the dimensions tonight and post them here. 

Data is persistent across power cycles, but apparently not if you leave the sign off for a very long time (I believe it's about 1-2 months).  I'm guessing that the storage on the sign isn't totally nvram-like.  It has a single power source, (do you want the voltage?), and has a rj45-serial cable for a PC connection.

Just to let you know, the reason I'm selling it is because it can't be programmed on the fly without custom software and some reverse-engineering of the sign's control protocol that goes over the serial line.  But, if you have the time for it, it's not impossible.
