Yobo Guncon2 Lightguns / Symphonic 27" Flat Tv Issues
« on: June 05, 2005, 10:37:57 am »
I'm having some problems with my two new Yobo Guncon2 lightguns and my Symphonic 27" flat tube Tv. Both guns shoot quite a bit to the right in mame & mame32. They react this way with 1 or 2 guns enabled in the .ini. Video is s-video from a an ATi AIW, gun is coposite & usb. Same thing happens if I switch the video from s-video to composite. Sp2 full patches. Firewall on/off doesn't matter.

Smogs calibration screen shows the cursor stopping about 1/3 from the left edge of the screen, right at the edge of dialog box in 640x480 mode. Acorns calibration pretty much has the cursor at full calibration, but the cursor is in no way aligned with the gun.

I'm try to come up with a good next step to follow. Does this sound like an issue with the yobo guns, the videocard, or the Tv? Is anyone else using the Yobo guns without a problem, or using a Symphonic 27" flat (Wallyworld Tv) without problems?

I know one common calibration trik to to 'move' the screen via the Tv controls to get calibration to work, and then move it back after calibration. Is that suggestion for 'minor' offset problems, or will it work for major offset issues also? To make matters worse, the Symphonic has only a few controls; the 'move the screen' controls must be in a hidden service menu, not the user service menu. Anyone know of a site that lists howto enter service  mode on various Tv's?

have you tried manually calibrating with smogs control panel? plus you probably want to ask this on his guncon2 website... you might get better response!

I don't have the guns you're referring to, but after calibration my mission ps2 guns work great with my tv.
