WTB/WTTF: 19" arcade monitor (Houston)
« on: May 31, 2005, 06:44:06 pm »
Am in need of a working 19" monitor (good geometry, no burn-in, etc) for my Hang-On upright project machine.  Would love another Nanao for direct replacement, but others are okay too.  Local to Houston preferred - I don't want to pay to ship a used monitor.

Looking for something on the relatively inexpensive side, or I do have a 27" monitor I'd be willing to trade...  27" was pulled from my Super Neo 29 candy cab when I upgraded to a Betson multisync.  Has no burn-in, works great, good color, might need a cap kit (or just some adjustment) to correct minor pincushion that I was unable to adjust out.  Has been stored indoors, packaged securely in the Betson's shipping box and not really moved around since it was pulled ~2 months ago.

I may be able to help you out!

I've got lots of 19" monitors. They're all Wells Gardners, though.

Would that 27" monitor fit into 25" mounting brackets? Do you think you could take the dimensions of it for me?

I'm in DFW, but will probably be headed to College Station for father's day. That's only about an hour from Houston. Would that be close enough to meet me?

Aside from the pincushion, how's the picture quality? Could you post a picture? How's the color?

I'm interested in the 27" monitor also.  Unfortunately I don't have a 19" to trade, but if you're interested in a cash sale send me an e-mail: mike_manders@hotmail.com

Have a trade pending with AlanS17 on the 27"...  Will drop you a line if the deal falls through.

Resurrected!

Seems the deal with AlanS17 has, in fact, fallen through and I find myself once again in need of a 19" monitor...  If you're in the Houston-ish area and have one to sell, please let me know!

27" is still available for trade (and I would be willing to entertain offers on the 27", provided they don't involve having to ship the thing - it most definitely would require oversize shipping fees).

Like I said before - no big deal...  Still needing a monitor, though.  ;)

Appreciate the heads up, but I'm in need of a standard res monitor...  And $225 is more than the machine this monitor's going into is worth anyway.  ;)

Pretty good price...  Are they local?  Only Alva Amusements I can find seems to be in Florida...

Well 19" monitors aren't usually that expensive to ship. If sent right you can probably send one for $30. If they're charging much more than that, chances are either they don't know how to ship properly or there's mark-up hidden in the shipping.

I was watching that one, but won't mind letting it slip. I just don't know what to think about the seller. He has all the means to test his stuff, but doesn't. Sounds like plausible deniability. I bought a Ms Pac Man cab from him recently but haven't gone to pick it up yet. I contacted him, though, and he has other monitors. I would assume he'll test something if he's making a straight sell.
