corner/saving space cab designs??
« on: May 29, 2005, 10:28:05 am »
I want a cab but I don't have the space  :(
So I'm looking for idea and ways to save space.
It will never be a great cab as there is no way I can put a 27"+ screen in it.
At this moment I'm looking at 17" LCD's to save space.

But it is better than nothing.

links please!!

Have you considered a wall mounting cabinet? This is something I looked at for a while and it's doable with a mini-ITX motherboard and an LCD screen.Although I'm a little pressed for space, I decided that it wasn't for me and went with a full size cab which my wife has since taken to calling the "Space Invader" - Never marry a woman with a sharper wit than you...

I'm not sure anyone has ever done it before. It's a bit of an off the wall idea (ahem..sorry) and LCD's aren't popular for games, particularly old, emulated games. If you decide to go down that road then you're pretty much on your own although I'm sure many here will throw their ideas into the ring.

How strapped for space are you, exactly?  Japanese candy cabinets are compact and fit well into corners, but can get you the big 27" monitor.  Might be something to consider.  There are even versions that are ultra-small, such as the Capcom MiniCute (although it only has a 19" monitor, rather than a 25/27").

I got say 27" x 27" (70cm x 70cm) with a push.
One side would be agaist a wall i a corner.

I found the link below and I think this is what I'm look for.

This would do it I think. I just need to find more spec on the cab.
