quick light gun question
« on: May 28, 2005, 10:51:44 pm »
I've read that the ACT-Labs gun doesn't support the off screen shoot for re-load.  How do you reload with this gun?  Also is the screen flash a major pain in the arse?  I'm trying to determine if I should order one before the deadline so any info would be helpful

Thanks,
N

check out the video review at www.retroblast.com for more info.

There is a button on the gun I believe that you can map in MAME for reload on "shoot off screen to reload" games.

Hi,
The Act-Labs guns do support off screen reload.  They map the second "thumb button" to be the off screen reload buttons for most games.  Just remap the thumb button to be reload, calibrate the gun properly and then shoot off screen and it will work.

The only disadvantage is that you now have no third button for grenades and other stuff you might want.  For this - I've found a foot pedal switch works best of all.

Cheers!
