Almost -
You forgot  . . .

Rearrange buttons b/c you didn't like your first attempt

Add trackball and Spinner.

Add Star Wars Yoke and T2 Guns.

Build and interface multiple CP's for attaching above.

Upgrade to 49-Way joysticks with rotary adapters just b/c they're cool

Come up with cool and unique side art and CP overlays.

Configure Frontend so it doesn't look like a PC in a big box.

Lighted sticks and buttons just because you can.

wow, 385 posts and yet such a newbie question.  :D

You need to be more specific. Do you want to use a PC monitor or an arcade monitor? Do you want the arcade cabinet to also still work with JAMMA standard arcade circuit boards or no? etc...
NO MORE!!

uh...project arcade (the book)?

Seconded.

I lurked around the boards (and others like it) for 18+ months, reading and researching everything and still learned (or was reminded of) a lot of stuff when reading the book.

Book link

Buy it.
Read it.
Build a great cab.

Cheers.

My one piece of advice... BUY A MASK FOR WORKING WITH A ROUTER!!!

Ever seen wood turn instantly to dust?

No, I wasn't - Aren't the below comments the standard practice for building one of these.  It pretty much has been for me, for as far as I've gotten on it.

Oh - also forgot to add:

Either read this forum daily for a constant stream of new cool stuff to add to the project, or avoid the forum altogether so you have some chance of getting something built before you want to "improve" the design.

I second the mask comment! Unless of course you enjoy headaches from breathing in MDF dust....

That is the most true statement I've read so far.

how do you get music to stay on only at the interface before you select a game?...
And what is a good method to have mame start up automaticly when you boot up your computer?
