Dumb CP question...?
« on: May 24, 2005, 08:37:25 pm »
Ok, here goes.

Assuming I buy a Keywiz adapter for my layout (I've decided for the missionary version of 6 buttons, 2-3 joysticks and a mouse), will I still be able to buy a PS/2 mouse??

I think Keywiz sucks up the PS/2 slot, am I right? And ulnlike USB, there's no way of adding PS/2 slots, is there?

I mean, I want a trackball, but I don't want the Optipac hassle.

I was thinking joysticks to the keyboard encoder, mouse to the PS/2.,..

and if that's all possible? Does that leave a USB spinner option??

Please advise.

Tony

The KeyWiz will take up the Keyboard PS/2 "slot", but you will still be able to connect a PS/2 trackball/mouse via the Mouse PS/2 slot.

And you can do a USB spinner, yes.

A KeyWiz for buttons & joys, a PS/2 trackball, and a USB spinner is a dandy combo- you'll be fine.

No problems as others have said,

But if you didn't want an Opti-pac and didn't want to pay the extra for a PS/2 trackball, you could use a standard t-ball and an www.oscarcontrols.com $10 USB mouse pre-hack.
