Driving Force Pro and Mame
« on: May 23, 2005, 03:21:27 pm »
I bought the DFP with force feedabck for PS2 awhile back and really enjoyed playing GT4.  Since I have been working on my mame cab and CP lately I am wondering if their is a way to use this fantastic wheel to play MAME roms.

I searched this forum and the web but could find nothing concrete.

The poster named 1UP seemed to have interest in this as well at one point.

If you have done anything like this please post some info or a helpful link as I cannot come up with anything.

I am guessing I may need drivers (I found a broken link to wingman site but no drivers) to use this on PC or possibly a PS2 to PC adaptor of some sort.

You won't have force feedback obviously, but other than that, it should work just fine.

Ive used on mame it feels a bit sloppy and heavy in play because of the dead motors your turning with the wheel.

Yeah I was a bit concerned about that.  Going to try the drivers over the weekend and see how I make out.  Since its only useable as a 270 wheel from what I read I am not sure how useful it will be, since my favorite games are APB and Ivan Stewart which I think are both 360.

Meh maybe I ll get a spinner in the short term.
