OT: CD Covers - Where?
« on: December 04, 2002, 12:33:39 pm »
It looks like the site I normally get my cd covers from has taken them down. Anyone know of a good site to download CD covers?

I get most of mine from amazon.com. Usually you can click the thumbnail for a higher res one but not always. They store them in every different formats to, sometimes BMP or GIF but most of them in JPG.
My statements are my own opinions. They have the value that the reader gives them. My opinion of my opinion varies between foolish and brilliant and these opinions often change with new information.

Sasquatch....I suggested there too until I went there today and noticed that they have removed all of the Audio CD covers!   At least the movie covers are still there....

Another place I've tried when amazon doesn't have a cover is www.buy.com

I wonder where M$ get's theirs in media player 9.  I hate how they did that though, they should have a cd covers folder, not just dump them into the directory with the song/albumn.

Did you really mean kamart or was that a finger slip? I tried kmart and they were pretty good but a bit small.

They store them in every different formats to, sometimes BMP or GIF but most of them in JPG.

No need to convert, heres a helpful hint:  Sometimes when you enlarge the cover, it turns into a .bmp, even though IE path says its a .jpg.

Instead of enlarging it, then right-click, save  do this:

Right-click the little image, then choose "Save target as". It will save it as a .jpg for ya.

Try it, thought I could help,
Fat Johnny

Isn't every cover link on that page broken?  They did not put the ending </a> page on all their links so there are no links.

SamGoody has the smallest covers I have seen on any site. What CD did you look at that were so big?

I found a good covers site, although it's german. The dreamcast cover I downloaded was around 1000x1000 pixels, pretty nice. They also have a ton of CD and other types of covers. Also the interface is a lot better than coverkingdom.net, I found that one to be pretty clunky and slow.

This site has just about every artist available the images are around 200 x 200.  I use this one for the hard to find albums. (www.allmusic.com)

Try Wal-Mart.com  It shows small versions of the album cover, then you can click on it for a larger view. Which is a good size for quality. And they're  JPEG
