Unfortunately, no... this would be for just the D-pad, ground, Start, A, B, X, Y, L, and R buttons...

Yes! One ground per pad... and one wire for each button and direction.

No, it doesn't. I did this because everyone's panels are different, it would be hard to come up with a common length suitable to everyone. The way I have worked the pads is to make them suitable to connect to either a terminal strip or a DSUB or Molex connector.

Well, I solder the wires as well as hot glue the connections so that they are more durable and less likely to separate. Also, I label each wire and strip the end. I have done six of these so far for people on these boards. Some people just have difficulty soldering, so I'm happy to do it for them. I'm really not making all that much on each pad after I buy the wire needed and ship them back out. It's also fairly time-consuming... (Anyone know where to get a large quantity of 22 gauge stranded wire for cheap?)

Official or Madcatz are the only ones I have experience with. Other aftermarket pads could work... I know for a fact that the Astro (Performance) pads don't work. It all depends on the pad I guess.

I installed two of the pads in my control panel and they worked 100% on the first try! Finally I can enjoy Marvel Vs Capcom 2 without a Naomi system. Thank you again Haruman!!

Ok... I just bought the last of the controllers I could find. I got 4...

Dreamweb has first dibs... since I supply the controllers, $25 instead of $20, and shipping to Canada, +$10, so $35 total...

The other two are sold to Monkeybomb.

btw, you CAN hack both the analog and digital... and let people choose.

The analog halls effect joysticks are can be hooked up to a microswitch... but are all / nothing.

Its a nice option if you plan on doing these.

Also...

If you goto your local toys-r-us... ask if they have any in the back. I know that the one around by my house (ok, 15 minutes away) has a HUGE box of officials that are in the back collecting dust... So you might find they DO have some but just aren't on the floor.

Hey everyone.

I received mine today. They look very professionally done.. and they were packed safely.

My question now is.. How do I hook these things up? I have no problem hooking up the gamepad to the joystick... and the buttons to the buttons.. but, what about grounding? I have all my buttons and joysticks grounded already... do I need to do anything 'extra' after I hook up the DC pads?

Excuse the newbness of my questions.

There is one ground wire per controller. You daisy-chain that between all the grounds on your button and joystick microswitches. Once that's done, plug in to your dreamcast and play away!

Need to give props to Haruman for the great soldering job; I sent him the controllers (I stripped off the casings down to the "crippled cylon raiders" to cut down on the weight), he did the hacks in about a week and got them back to me pronto.

He actually did a configuration that I "designed" (meaning, I thought of it then found a few people that apparently thought of it first) where we used a DB9 switch and cable to switch between the analog and digital controls of the DC pads and used a DB25 switch to swap between the IPAC2 and DC inputs to the controls themselves.

The package he sent back had four controllers (I'm building two cabinets) all wired up to the DB9 and DB25 cables I had sent all good to go and reasonably priced and he was more responsive than many in this industry.
