I suppose chances of finding these in the states are pretty slim...

Don't recognize that.

I thought it was maybe a sanwa, which you could get from
http://www.himuragames.com/store_buttons.php but it's not . . .

It looks like a non-translucent version of the Centsible buttons, but I don't know who makes them:

thanks Tiger
I was hoping to buy a few matching ones for my candy cab instead of replacing them all

Those are some cool replacements though
I might end up doing that

Actually, the Happ Competition Buttons http://www.happcontrols.com/pushbuttons/5896xxl.htm are supposed to have a similar feel to the Japanese buttons.  (Colors probably won't be close to the same, though).

You might see if Ponyboy can get you a deal on these (without microswitches?)  At the himuragames prices, it might be cheaper to replace them.

that looks like a Baolian button, one might call it a sanwa/seimitsu knock-off.

you're welcome :)
I knew they looked familiar, as far as where to get those from, unless someone has made a large purchase of them and is parting them out you may be hard pressed to find those. You are better off getting some Sanwa or Seimitsu buttons from a vendor on the web such as himura.
