SKJukebox error when running for first time - fixed
« on: May 20, 2005, 02:32:56 am »
I am getting the following error when trying to run SKJukebox after installing it:
System Error &H8007007E (-2147024770). The specified module could not be found.

I am running WinXP SP1 and have downloaded the VB6 runtimes and installed (even though I appeared to already have a VB6 DLL installed).

I have installed and run it fine on another PC of mine, however, the one that it giving the error is my MAME cab PC

After plenty of experimenting I managed to find what the cause was.

It seems that at some point I installed the jukebox using a non-default filepath and then uninstalled it.

This time when I installed it, I used the default path. All of the registry entries for 'imag*.dll' where still pointing to the original install location. These entries must not be deleted on uninstall or altered on a reinstall to another location.

When I changed all entries in the registry that were pointing to the old location to where it was now installed, it worked!!  :D

Thanks for that, I will have a look at my options for unregistering those DLLs when uninstalling.  I'm assuming it was working when installed into the 'non-default' path?

SK.
