ok, i have finally mustered the courage to post my juke project. i am attempting to attach a picture, if this works, i will post more. if not, i will slip back into the cracks $:-\$

WAY FREAKING AMAZING!!!! That is just over the top. WOW!! Congratulations on a FANTASTIC looking jukebox. That looks like a special project from Extreme Makeover Home Edition.

Where did you get the different size Electro panels (or whatever they're called)?

Great looking jukebox. Love that trackball surround... "one of my parent's old 45's" makes me feel old though! Was just yesterday they were phased out! Very cool name too.

i'm actually 31 and i remember having a little yellow record player that was built into a handy carrying case. . . the kind made out of plastic where you flip back the top and there's the record player. i had a few 45's, but they are long gone

This is amazing and of course totally unique.

One thing I wondered about was you don't seem to have much in the way of letting the sound out. I know you already said the sound is great, but wouldn't it be even more awesome with a few speaker grills (would spoil the clean look thought I must admit).

Quick question, how are the two sets of speakers wired? Do you have a splitter on a single stereo jack or are you using a surrond sound card with more than one output?

yeah, i imagine more sound would come out with the speaker grills, but as it is, i left the back side completely open to help the sound flow out. i usually keep it at around 75% volume, anything more and you can't hear yourself think

you are correct in regards to how i wired it, that being a splitter on a single stereo jack, and i was concerned about how the quality would diminish, but surprisingly it didn't even come into play. the subs are amped (by stock design) so i guess that makes a difference. . . but then again, i am happy with my stock stereo in my toyota truck so i am by no means an audiophile

I think you definitely acheived what you were going for in terms of a stream lined look, it was the first thing I noticed and has even convinced me to make a few changes to my juke that I had been deliberating about for a long time (I'm going to remove the metallic foil on the sides and replace it with blue speckled paint).

Altohugh I have a powered crossover in mine to seperate out the bass I also use a stereo splitter and would agree that it doesn't seem to affect the quality.

are your other projects pictured on this board or anywhere else?

that sounds cool, definitely post the pics once the change is made, i would love to see how it turns out. i'm sure it gonna look great!
my two mame projects are not currently posted, but i'll get a couple pics up once i get home from work.

should have read 'squatch's bio first. . . . turns out they don't call him that because he is 5'9" like me! it works out nice, though as i really feel like a little kid again when i play it

second shot is the machine i made for my dad last father's day called "7th Inning Stretch". nice simple control panel. his favorite game is space invaders, but he can still play alot of games with this panel.
