Game quick select buttons w/ Kensington mouse hack
« on: May 18, 2005, 03:35:05 pm »
Now that I'm determined to put a trackball in the cab I'm building, it frees up the Kensington Optical Pro mouse that I've been using. I realized that the software will let you program button-presses to launch the file of your choosing. So I'm going to hack the mouse to allow buttons on the cab to quickly launch my favorite games.  There are 5 buttons and 2 chorded sets that can be programmed for a total of 7 games.

Now I just have to find room to install more buttons on my cabinet :(  I'd love to use illuminated buttons that I can replace the insert on, but will probably just label them 1-7 and maybe have a sleeve that I can slip a printed insert in.
Brevity is not my strong suit.
