Trackball moving screen
« on: December 03, 2002, 01:53:24 pm »
This is one of those little announces I am finally geting around to looking at:   in Centipede and a few other trackball games .. going too far right or left will actually cause the game-screen itself to slide left or right.   Looks like some sort of resolution problem.  Anyone know what parameter setting can fix this?

Using WinXP, Mame32, Optipac, Bezel function on

I'm guessing you are using a TV out and the resolution settings in your display properties is too high, causing the screen to scroll.

You can also look to make sure that MAME32 isn't changing the res on you.  If you have it set to "auto resolution" and the game (w/bezel) is higher res than your card can handle through the video out, it will put your display into scroll mode.

Of course, since I'm not completely familiar with your setup, YMMV :)

Yeah I'm using TV-out through S-Video.   I will try turning off "auto resolution" and setting that manually to the 800x600 everything else is running at.  I have an ATI Radeon7500 as the card, which I believe should be able to handle higher resolutions than mame32+bezel would throw at it.  hmmm

Is there a method to kill scroll mode?
