Custom Centipede Control Panel (pics inside)
« on: May 17, 2005, 06:26:27 pm »
Well... here it is.  It was printed by ClassicArcadeGrafix.  Love it.

I think the file was originally done by OSCAR (correct me if I'm wrong).  I edited the original to make the 2-player, 6-button layout.

I am extremely pleased with the way it turned out.

If Mahuti or anybody else wants it for the Library... let me know.

so... what do you think?

I think you did a helluva job on that.  Looks really nice.  I like how you have the burst on the dust covers for the joysticks.

I have posted the artwork to the Arcade Library site.  Just search for "Centipede" and it will come up.

I'm happy to be giving something back to this community that has helped me out so much.

Great idea! If I ever had the wish for six buttons at each player on my cab, this would be the way to go! :))

Very interesting about the dustwashers, though I keep them under the panel.  :)

This is really funny- I did the exact same layout for somebody about a year ago! Mine was only slightly different (he didn't want the buttons arced). I'll have to see if I can dig up the old file.

Edit: Here's a PDF of the layout I did. I think your version does look better. I never got to see the finished printed version of this though  :(

I vaguely remember seeing that one last year.  I was working on mine around the same time and got it printed, it just took me forever to get the control panel done.

You'll notice on the mushrooms, the color scheme (from the outside) is, thin white band, thick green, thin blue and then red.  I tried to mimic this with the button section.  Thin white, thick green, and then there is a solid blue circle.  The buttons are what makes up the red.

I am extremely pleased with the way it turned out.

I'm glad you guys like it.

[edit] spelling
