Mameroom Cockpit cab
« on: May 16, 2005, 05:02:09 pm »
I'm not planning on building a cockpit-cab anytime soon, but once I'm in a bigger house with a nice game-room basement, I'd definately like to try, eventually. It'd be nice to be able to use an existing plan, and I was looki ng the Mameroom (The UAII guys) cockpit cab, but I'm confused; where do the seat and computer go?

http://www.mameroom.com/uacockpitplans_info.asp

I'm looking at this and I can't seem to figure out just how everything works out. Would a regular ol' carseat fit in there, or is it more complicated than that? Also, where would the PC get placed? And also, how do you mount controls to it, like flight yokes and steering wheels? Like I said before, I'm not planning on building one any time soon, but there's no harm in looking ahead.

Don't look at the Mameroom cockpit, the thing is a turd, it was designed apparently without reference to any ACTUAL cockpit cabinets. I seem to remember the Mameroom guy not even being able to get $50 for the whole thing on ebay (the one in the photos on the site).
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

OK, thanks for the heads up. I'm probably best off coming up with my own anyway.
