Happ 360 vs. Act Labs Gun
« on: May 16, 2005, 10:34:11 am »
I have the money to purchase two 360 Happ controllers....or I could go with a couple of Supers and get an Act Lab PC gun.  Any opinions out there...... What would you do????

i'd have to go opposite.  unless you would get 49-ways.  360's are the best joystick out there right behind the 49-ways, due to their quiet and precise movement.

the act lab guns will soon be out of style due to the newer guns that are about to debut.  now i know none have debuted yet, but just look at how far along the guncom gun driver has come, and that lightgun will only cost you 25 bucks at most, not 100 like the act labs gun.  also, ereal is coming out with a lgihtgun for any monitor and any resolution as soon as the end of this week.  so just hold your horses for a bit longer and see what happens.  you can always order an act labs light gun before the end of the month.

My thoughts too, Flinkly.  I have hard time blowing that much money for a light gun when I can just be patient and get one of the new units coming out.

I would wait on the lightguns.  I have one and hardly ever use it.

There are other times that I think are worth it more.  (49way + gp49 + snk upgrade for instance).  But what do you already have?  Trackball?  Spinner?  Encoder already purchased?

As for the 360s themself.  I could still consider getting the supers instead.  Not that 360s are not worth it... but they come on sale once a year for 1/2 the normal price or less.  And you can always use backup supers for later projects or backup.

But if you haven't bought your encoder yet... I would definately consider the gp49 + happs49 + the rotary adapter for 25 bucks more.  The one joystick will allow you to play TONS of games!
