Testing CPS2 A-Board.
« on: May 15, 2005, 02:05:17 pm »
Do you need a good working B-board to test an A-board?  I got my hands on a set and the B-board is dead due to the suicide battery so I wanted to test the A-board before investing in repairing the game.

I'm just needing to know if you plug an A-board into a JAMMA harness without a B-board on it, do you get anything on the screen?  Presently when I plug mine in, the screen is filled with very small white dots.  This happens both with the A-board plugged in by itself and with the B-board attached.

I just got a red screen and the fan was running on a known good board.

Did you hit the test button on the A-board to see if anything came on screen?  The fan is running on mine and the battery is charged, so I know the board is getting power.  Thanks for helping me out.  ;D

Thanks for the help tommy.  I'll presume my A-board is good.  I guess I won't know for sure until I get a known working B-board.
