Pay it forward...
« on: May 09, 2005, 01:50:28 am »
Well for the most, everyone here has been pretty good to me.  I'd like to repay some of that by doing something similar to the movie, "pay it forward".  I have 6  leaf-spring pushbuttons in assorted colors, in various conditions.  Free to a good home.  Pay me shipping when you get it.  I don't want anything in return except that you actually need the item and that sometime in the future you consider doing the same deed for someone else in need.  I hope this promotes some good will and some "good deals" not involving ebay for those that may be strapped for cash.  I'm going through the pile of arcade crap so I'll be posting more in the future.  Feel free to do the same y'all.  Take care and God bless.

Yeah, there was some hard feelings for ebay deals so I figure why not make honorable deals right here at BYOAC.

Have the board mods ever considered making a category for freebies? I often give away my older or unused technology to friends or family, and it'd be great to offer the pieces they don't want to people that could use them.

A couple weeks ago I tossed an almost perfect Viewsonic 19" PF790 monitor because I couldn't find anybody that needed a new screen. Somebody here certainly could have used it(of course, that was before I even knew about this site).

RGVAC has a 'Free Friday' thingy where people offer up usable stuff they want gone.  Occasionally crap gets tossed in the mix (as I found out a couple years ago when someone offered up some 'free leaf switch buttons') but 99% of the offering is for decent stuff.  The usual thing is for people to just pay shipping costs, but several people actually pay the shipping to the recipient.

Such a thing would be really cool here.  I'll work on something later.

I got one here too....a bezel for nothing, just shipping.  Looks as if it's on the smaller side.  I'll gladly contribute to some good times.  Lots of conflict lately, so I'll pay it foward too.

I've got some stuff I can kick in as well and will put up some pics later. I'm sure I have a couple of joysticks, harness' and maybe some marquee's etc...
but will look and snap pics before I over commit.

It would be nice if we kept this thread going it would be a benefit to people who are strapped for cash and trying to complete a cab, etc.

Okay, here's how this will work, to keep things structured.  I'm going to lock this thread, and start an 'official' thread.  It'll be stickied.  The rules will be posted at the top.
