Anyone just see Derren Brown??

Wow!!

For those of you who dont know, Derren Brown is prob the UK version of David Blane (although much more beliveable).

His show was just on CH4 over here in the UK. The center piece of the show was an 'arcade machine' that they built.

What they did was build an arcade machine in a pub. It was called Living Nightmare or something like that, (looked like it was using an Act Labs gun btw). The cab looked geniuine to the pubilc but Derren showed it was hooked up to a laptop in another room in the pub where another guy was controling the path of the player (i.e, the predeterimed path that lightgun games follow). It seems that the game had been programed especially for the show.

Anyway, here's the good bit. Derren was in the back room when someone finally decided to play on the game. Whislt the punter was playing on the zombie shooting game, Derren made a series of flashes appear on the screen at certain times. This, stangely, made the player fall asleep whilst playing. As soon as he fell asleep they carefully put him on a hospital trolley and wheeled him down the road to a building.
When you went into the building you could see it was EXACTLY the same as the game (they must have modelled the game from it) with the same eerie green lighting etc.
They stood him in the middle of a room (the same 'room' in which he fell asleep in whilst playing) and put an automatic rifle in his hands. Derren woke him up from another control room with a horn and when he woke up he didnt know where the ---I'm attempting to get around the autocensor and should re-read the rules!--- he was. All of a sudded these zombie actors came coming at him, he obviously thought he was in the game and eventually started shooting at them (he sounded scared as sh!t tho!, screaming etc). After a few hords of zombies, derren went back in there and sent him back too sleep.
They stretcherd him back to the pub and stood him up at the cab again where he had falled asleep.
They woke him up and went over to him (he didnt know he had been asleep) pretending that they were game manufactures testing a prototype game. He said it was amazing and said it felt really realistic, saying it was prob something to do with the colours or sounds or something. Hiw little did he know!

Wish it had happened to me!

They did come clean with him in the end and showed him the video of the whole thing and he was pretty cool with it considering what they had put him through!
