Lending a board to dump for MAME
« on: May 05, 2005, 07:23:40 pm »
How do I contact Guru regarding domating a PCB to dump? His site says to contact him via the MAME.net forum, but everything I try on that forum results in a technical error (I can't login, I cant register as a new user, I can't check for a forgotten password, Nothing!)

You sure that's right? Mamedev.net brings me to this:
http://www.arcadeheaven.com/

Which has spyware and ROM links... Can't be the same Guru.

I tried through the official site and I e-mailed Randy hoffman.  I have gotten no return from either.  If you find an I address I can send a board to I'd love to hear from you.

Mine is acctually the board from Paigeoliver -  "Dark Horse: World Derby Championship"  and it's not one of the two games called Darkhorse that are already dumped.  Maybe the offer of two boards will trigger more response.

OK I contacted Guru via the link posted by BSR (thanks!) and got an immediate response.

I won't mention what board I'm buying but it WILL be lent out for a dumping. I'll post more info when the deal closes (trying not to jinx myself at this point).

So I got in touch with him, described to him the board I have which is supposedly "The Galaxy Empire Strikes Back" by Irem. He sounded interested and even said "when do you plan to send it out?".

Next thing I know he's telling me he's too busy and I should find a way to dump it myself since it's "easy".

So, what do I do? Who can dump this for me?

Pull the ROMs out and MAME that board, then email him telling him you've done it and it is now running MAME and he's right, it was easy.

If its an old board it should be pretty easy.  I've got an eprom reader if you want me to give it a try.

PM me if interested.
