Well the answer to this one is really obvious.

The wiring has a broken connection somewhere inbetween the microswitch and the board.

Use your multimeter (which I am betting you don't own, go buy one right now, most important tool in this hobby), to check the connection between the microswitch and the appropriate pin on the edge connector.

If you have continuity THERE, then that pin is no longer making a good connection, so get something small and bend up the part that makes contact with the PCB and see if it works then.

If you DON'T have continuity there then the connection is broken somewhere between the edge connector and the microswitch. Examine the wiring for breaks. If there is another connector inline then that is likely the problem, see if it is making good contact. If that is the problem, and you don't want to replace the whole connector, then simply splice that wire AROUND the connector.

No i don't have a  multi-meter.  Looks like i will be getting one.

I figured the wire is broken somewhere. Because i didn't have this problem

until i cut the harness free and moved it around. No telling how many years

it has been stuck in that position?  Like since 1988 maybe?

I guess when push comes to shove i could cut and splice it from the connector

all the way up to the button itself?  Right now it is running from the connector

to a molex connector then up to the button itself.

Ok here's a update.

After much trial and error, There is nothing wrong with my PLAYER 2 button.

I switched back to TURTLES IN TIME (2 - player) pcb. And set it back the way it

was when i received it.

Wait, are you talking about your player 2 start button, and not the action button?

If so, TMNT 4-player requires separate coin inputs for each player, and many Jamma cabs are not equipped or not wired that way. I know mine isn't.

That might be the reason for TMNT (4-player) not letting a 2nd player in.

On my TMNT turtles in time (2-PLAYER) pcb.
