Any Slikstik customers?
« on: May 02, 2005, 10:12:58 am »
Hello All,
I ordered my slikstik nearly a month ago and I have heard very little back. Do they usually send you a email when its ready. Im kinda worried and anxious. I want to ask them how things are going but I get an auto message pretty much saying" be patient". I am aware that they are good at what they do and I have no hard feelings im just anxious. Anyojne else know how long it usually takes?

I think the website says something like "four to six weeks, etc...".  Hope for four, expect six.

They're fairly well known for slow shipping. Customer service leaves a little to be desired as well. Good products though.

I ordered one at the beginning of the year, it arrived in about a week...

They are usually pretty good about responding to e-mail's, at least in my case.

I wouldn't worry....

Took along time for my spinner that I ordered about a year and a half ago.

It took about 5 weeks to fill the order.

I email and the response took around 3 days for the answer (They were out of stock of the knob I wanted).

To me thats exceptable customer service.

(Not everyone can be like ultimarc, and answer emails on weekends, etc.)

i agree with other posts here, ordered stuff from happs, ultimarc and slikstik all same day..sent to work

ultimarc came in first after 4 days. then happs next day and slikstik a week plus later.

but on the plus side , i got to play with them all when they came in, one at the time, rather than being overwhelmed.

not sure my boss liked that as much as i did.

I'm thinking of ordering one of their Quad cabs.  Do they use the best materials (joysticks, buttons, etc) or is there a chance that they'll have a cheap feel and skimp on those things?

You can click a link called "Specifications" to get more details on each of their products; a list of all the parts they use. The only thing I question is their choice for the default joysticks, which are Happ Competition. Not a bad stick of course, but they don't give you a choice of anything else like Supers or any Ultimarc products. The only real joystick upgrades they offer are Rotary or Perfect 360's, which may be overkill for some people.

I've been a customer of SlikStik a few times over the past couple of years.  Their customer support is horrible.  Takes forever to get a response back from them.  To make things worse, they all share 1 email inbox and it's nearly impossible to carry on a conversation with just one of them (there are 3) all the way through till the end.

On a plus note, they did take care of me once.  I ordered a custom blank quad control panel, and it did not arrive the way I ordered it.  They paid for return shipping and cut another one for me to rectify the problem.  http://webwonderland.net/arcade/modifications.htm It took many months to get the control panel in my hands, but I am happy with the control panel.
