Textured CP Plexi ???
« on: May 01, 2005, 01:28:45 pm »
I noticed today while looking at a Sliver Strike Bowling by I.T. that the plexi they had on the CP had a very slight "texture" to it that gave it a cool look and feel. Have any of you seen this stuff before? What is it?

It also looked like whoever built it used a router to ease the edges and even counter sunk the screws holding the stuff down to the CP. It made for a really nice look.

um, mamemarguees puts a nice texture on their control panel overlays.  it's some sort of plexiglass sort of covering, i'm told.  makes the cp hold up better to abuse.

Well, from my limited experience, Plexiglas is clear like glass. So is that Lexicon stuff. This material I'm talking about has a very slight texture to it. You can see thru it fine but you can defiantly tell it's not your normal clear plexi.

Also, countersinking screws holes or routing edges of plexi is tuff to do without melting or cracking. Which leads me to wonder what that stuff was...

Many of the newer arcade machines have a plexi cover over the CPO

in a few months/years you can replace the plexi if you need to
and the CPO still looks as good as new

LOL, they call this one "tadpole"!

If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

Are you talking about "texture" or are you talking about "clarity/transparency"?

Texture describes something you can physically feel.

I'm talking you can physically feel it. I can't really think of anything comparable to it right off hand.
