Looking for Sprint 2
« on: April 26, 2005, 10:32:56 pm »
I'm not entirely sure that this post should go here because I am not nessesarily willing to buy a Sprint 2 machine at this time. I'm mostly just wondering how big a price tag I'd would be looking at for one. So please move this if nessesary.

Anyways. Father's day is coming up (eventually), and my father's favorite game of all time was Sprint 2. Aparently he used to be very very good at it, to the point that store owners would give him money to keep playing because of teh crowd he drew. I was thinking that a Sprint 2 cab might look good in his basement and was just wondering how rare they are and what I should expect to pay for one.

Thanks.

$250ish.

I just sold a complete non-working one with good monitor and 3 non-working boardsets for like $100 or something like that. I still have an empty cabinet for one, nothing in it other than the board cage and part of the harness.

I meant a working one. Is that what you meant when you said $250?

Yes, a working one should be about $250. More if the board or monitor have been recently serviced. Less if it is working with problems.

At that price I really can't afford not to buy one can I?

The harder part is finding one in the first place. I wanted one, could only find broken ones, ended up with two of them that didn't work (both had good monitors and bad boards), then I ran into 2 different ones with working boards in close succession (they had working boards, but had other problems), both were sub-$100. I just couldn't bring myself to buy either one of them because then I would have had 3 of the suckers, and they aren't exactly small.
