Looking for a pair of Seimitsu 8-way balltops..
« on: April 24, 2005, 10:11:03 pm »
Anyone have a pair of Seimitsu 8-way balltop joysticks for sale ? I have cash or lots of different stuff to trade.I'm looking for either pink or bright green balltops. Here's the particular models I'm looking for..
LS-56
LS-55
LS-33
LS-40
LS-55-01
LS-56-01
If anyone has older Seimitsu sticks that have different model numbers but are similar to these models then I'd probably be interested in them as well. Here's their website so you can see what type of sticks I'm talking about.http://www.seimitsu.co.jp/ Click on the link to the right of the 5th green arrow down to see the joystick section. That is unless you're fluent in Japanese :).

contact Rod @ Himuragames tell him which model seimitsu you want

I personally prefer seimtsu's over sanwas and all my machines except my supergun are fitted with seimitsu's

I have some used seimitsu's (LS-40's and LS-32 I believe).  I was planning on selling these next month (along with a bunch of chinese and seimitsu buttons)...but haven't had time to clean them up and take pics yet.

Mr-Megalo, whats your reasoning for liking Seimitsu's more than Sanwa's?

Yes, I'm curious about that as well. I personally prefer the feel of the Sanwas.

If it's the green and pink balltops you're after then bear in mind that they can be bought separately. Also, Sanwa and Seimitsu balltops are interchangeable.

I just posted this in another thread, but thought I'd share here too.  So I am now on the fence about which stick is better.  The Seimitsu's uses microswitches with blades, and the sanwa's use microswitches without blades.  Without blades the sanwa has a little more play/throw in it before the microswitch registers a direction.  This may be desireable for fighters (I'm not really sure).  The seimitsu feels tighter because of the blades, and registers the directions very quickly (small movement)...this may be more desireable for shooters (again not really sure).

I'd need to play test each side by side to give a real opinion, but in my mind this is what I think the differences would be for the style of games you'd want to play.

I'd also like to try taping up the bottom end of the sanwa to see if I could make the play tighter.

I wish I had time to do all of this, but I am so far behind at work, and have a family wedding at the end of the week.   :P

longer throw/different feel to Sanwa's, I've used seimitsus for about 4 years, I do however think the Sanwa FLASH sticks are excellent, dont get me wrong I prefer sanwa sticks to a US style stick any day of the week, but the loosness of the joystick movement on seimitsus just feels smoother and less clicky than on a sanwa (to me anyways)

btw - yes I play lots of fighters (mainly Capcom based)

Sanwa JLW's come with levered microswitches.  I don't know if that makes them any tighter or not but maybe.  Also I wouldn't be surprised if you could fit some levered microswitches into a JLF to make it feel tighter.

Interesting as I see seimitsu's completely opposite.  When I talk about throw, I talk about the distance it takes for the microswitch to register.  Maybe you are talking about when the stick hits the gate?  You can definately make smaller movements with the seimitsu than sanwa because of the blades.

ah thats where I confuse you then, when I mean throw I mean it feels like the stick phsically moves further and feels looser/smoother in movement,  I guess its cos they arent PCB mounted switches instead they are leaf/blade style swiches.

I also feel helluva lot more comfy ragging on a seimitsu stick than a sanwa, I dont play half as aggresively when using my flash sticks - too scared that I'll break em  :-\
