Yeah, this is a shot in the dark, but if anyone has an Xbox debug or development console for sale, let me know.

If you want to bid over $800 you can get an XDK.

Actually, I already agreed to buy his. I just haven't had the chance to close the thread yet. Thanks for mentioning it though.

So are you a developer or just plan on learning? XDK's look like they could be a lot of fun.

I'm hoping to be a developer. This will be useful for experience.

What exactly is it that you can do with an XDK that you can't do with a modded xbox?
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

Spend a lot more money. While I could have gone the route of modding an Xbox into a debug unit, it still wouldn't be quite the same. One of the main limitations is that the regular Xbox only has 64MB of RAM, while the debug/dev kits have 128MB. The advantage of having an actual developer console is that I can do direct debugging through the additional ports on the back of it. Plus, I can use the recovery disks for when I screw up.

Of course, I would have screwed up a couple of consoles just trying to mod one of them properly. I can't solder worth a crap and the solder-less chips don't always work right.

Thanks, I saw that one too. I already found a Development Kit (should have it tomorrow), but I'm seeing if I have anything that interests him for the Debug Kit as well. Never hurts to have a backup.
