Where to buy LEDs and resistors?
« on: April 22, 2005, 01:18:31 pm »
I realize there are 4 Radio Shacks in my area, (in the greater Chico-Oroville, California area), but I do not like their LED offerings.  Where is the best place to buy LEDs and resistors.  I would really prefer to make the purchase at a local store, but I can only see Radio Shack as carrying what I need.  So here are two questions:

1) Are there any other chains or types of stores that would carry under 5v LEDs and resistors?

2) Where is the best place to buy under 5v LEDs and resistors online?

www.lsdiodes.com <-- they sell 45 cent LEDs or super bright ones for 90 cents.
www.jameco.com  <-- dont fancy the LED prices, but resistors etc...
www.futurlec.com <-- cheapest, but they have a bad reputation...

There's an ebay seller that I was told....besthongkong I believe.  Sells packs of 100 for something like 17 bucks...

Isn't there some place that sells the LEDs with the resistors already connected?

Hmmmm... maybe they were LED "bulbs" so they have a wedge or screw on base but already have the resistors built in.... I'll do a search.
