Well...I DO care what it looks like. The Xbox currently sitting in my living room is an eyesore, for example, while the Gamecube looks like a piece of art deco and the PS2 looks like a nice piece of industrial artwork.

But mainly, it's fun. There are new systems coming out and it's exciting. Why do you think movie companies make teaser trailers a year before the movie is released that don't show a single scene from the movie?

So Xbox360 will come out before Christmas/05. Does anyone think the PS3 will be release by then? I don't think so.. but would Sony give Microsoft one full Christmas season lead??

Personally I think that a lot of current X-Box owners are going to feel burned that Microsoft is coming out with a new system so soon, effectively abandoning them.

I don't know. Dreamcast came out first and had a significant head start.

Basically, though, Sony probably doesn't have a choice. Even if their hardware can be ready in time for a Holiday '05 launch they can't launch without software. They need to have a slew of titles available, including AT LEAST one killer app. they also have to be prepared to have more software releasing with regularity, at least a few big titles per month. If they rush the development of the software and debut with a bunch of unpolished crap they will practically be asking to lose their place as market leader.

well NES came to us in 85.. and I would say bout 6 7 years later we got snes... Bout the same time frame.... I think if i looked it up correctly.. like every game system from the start has been lik 200-250 and then it drops.. crazy.. like nes game sused to be expensive..30-50bux ..
