My Mini cab-shes almost done :)..more pics added
« on: April 18, 2005, 11:11:52 am »
Hello folks, first of all I would like to thank all of u guys for helping me along with my cab build,( i may not post much but I check this board a few times a day) so many of u have answered many of my questions without even knowing it :)

OK on to my Mini, this guy only stands 4 feet tall, which is surprisingly comfortable to play by standing children or sitting adults. It was designed around the very limited space, never built anything, only own a jig saw, don't even have a truck....cab builder :)  It has a basic and straight design. For those interested I have previously posted the dims  in case anyone wants them

I know the whole black/atomic Mame art cab has been done to death but in my area (Jackson MS) is a one of a kind :)
I have a few paint touch up I gotta do and maybe add some matching sideart, but at this point she is very playable and getting "tested" extensively.

Feel free to add any compliments and or questions, just remember don't be brutal , this is my first wood working project.

Nice little cab.   Good work for your first born. :-[
Looking forward to more pics that show the cab straight on to see the proportions you used.

Looks great, you did a great job cutting it out with only a Jig saw, I wouldn't like to try that myself.

Awesome!

Your CP looks wide enough, why not do a 2 player layout?

On a panel like this, is it uncomfortable for the buttons to be so close to the front of the panel?  I keep thinking that you don't have room to rest your wrists.  I'm making a mini and put the buttons higher, but it looks a little odd.  I think yours looks great, I'm just wondering how comfortable these are.

I wanted a very clean and simple design. In rare ocasions I do plug in a  gemepad.
I do regret not adding an additional joy on the other side of the buttons for Karate Champ tho.
Then again the cp is removable :)

I would have maybe moved evrything up maybe half an inch but no biggie, the cp height is very comfortable while sittn.

I got both the marque and the cp from http://www.mamemarquees.com/ ,  Very nice folks to deal with. Excellent quality :)

Be VERY careful.  I have a full size upright, two cocktails, four minis, and a bartop in progress... none of them are done.

Nice job MJ!

The more I see these well done Mini-cabs, the more I'm liking them.  So many cool things to build, so little space to put them...lol

I'm glad  u guys like my little cab. I have received many requests for the dims on this guy, they could be found here http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,26646.msg222118.html#msg222118
All  the dims were my own, I wanted to keep the arcade cabinet look while keeping it simple aswell.  All numbers were rounded off n so forth :)
Anyone is welcome to use but be forewarned, this was my first build :)
