Wanted: Cabinet for MAME Project in Mid-Michigan
« on: November 20, 2002, 04:23:59 pm »
Hi all...

I am looking for an empty (or nearly empty) cabinet to put to use as a MAME cabinet.  I live in the Lansing area.  Anyone have anything or know where I might find one in the area?

Thanks.
Shawn

You could always build your own.  You'll end up with a much higher quality cabinet than you would with a converted one.  There are plans somewhere on this website.... That's what I'm doing for my cabinet.
Game programmers do not play games for a living.  Would you say a mechanic drives cars for a living?

Look under "amusement devices" in  the phone book. Then start calling. I haven't been doing this for very long but I'm finding more and more arcade operators or repair guys that can't get rid of old cabinets. The newer bigger 25" cabinets still seem to be in demand and you might have to pay a little but the older 19" cabinets are hard to get rid off.  I picked up 2 cabinets in Greenville MI yesterday for free. He said he could probably get more if I was interested. The cabs were mostly stripped but they did have coin doors, monitor glass and bezels. The cabinets themselves are solid. I'm planning to donate one to a local charity and the other as a Christmas present after I get them converted.
