Question about Ms. Pac to PacMan conversion
« on: April 13, 2005, 09:06:51 am »
I found an original PacMan that has Ms. Pac running in it.  I want to convert it back to a regular pacman....what all do i need to do?

I know i need to unhook the second board and i need to replace the 2 character chips...is that it?

Also, i'd really like to have the speed up pacman.  If the Ms. Pac has the speed up chip in it, and i convert it back to regular pac, will the regular pac be sped up too?  Thanks for any help.

Almost. You need to remove the z80 processor from the Ms. Pac daughter board and place it in the slot where the ribbon cable was.

The speed up chip will work for both. It is located at 6F. The character roms are located  at 5E and 5F.
