Where to find empty sit down driving arcade cabinets?
« on: November 19, 2002, 09:38:27 pm »
Recently I got the sudden urge to buy and Xbox just to get the massive Steel Battalions mech joystick... I've always had quite a passion for most sit down mech games such as the old VR goggle games that used to cost $5 a pop etc... And a little voice in my head said "well if you going to spend all that money just to play a mech game you might as well go all the way". So then I got a vision of having a total enclosure much like the Battletech (or was it Mechwarrior) gaming places they had so many moons ago

Are there any sites or places that sells emtpy sit down cabinets (most likely ex driving games) or parts like seats etc... Doesn't have to fancy and I was thinking perhaps I could contruct one myself if I get the right parts since it mostly is just the illusion of sitting in the mech seat.

Might be a pipe dream, but I'd like to just look into the possibility...

Sit down game, drool... Man I'd love to put one of those in my basement. But it won't make the turn. We almost didn't get my 25" cabinet around the corner.
