I emailed them this.

It is actually spelled "YOKE", it is a flight yoke. Yolk is the stuff in the middle of an egg. =)

Different internals.  X axis is fine (but differnent... the gears are IN the main box... not behind.

The big difference is the Y axis.  This is on a level bar thingy that ends up scaling the Y axis.  IE more detail in the middle then the extremes.

Also, the springs are loose at center.  you fell like you have to put extra pressure to move it up or down... very easy to move it in the center.  This was enough that I completely remove the springs from mine... I doubled my starwars score by doing this.

I'm considering cutting mine up and trying to redo the gearing for the y axis.  But I haven't had time.  The scale is very noticable.  Still playable but you can tell its there.

I bought mine for 20 bucks years ago.... back when full starwars ones where going from 50 - 75... And I thought I got a good deal..... Then I second guessed it afterwards...  Of course seeing how much they are going for these days...  I wish I bought them all.

Well, it will take finding a gear, and cutting the support metal for it to fit through... OR changing the mounting of the pot.  I've asked around to get exact gear info for a starwars Y axis but I haven't got any replies in the past.  But I don't really care that much as long as it is in the acceptable pot range.  I don't mind calibrating it every time.

The support metal is behind the bar where on a starwars controller, its infront.  it shouldn't make a difference as long as its similar is size.  But I might be missing something (like it ends up being impossible to put it back together with the gear there).  I haven't got that far.   I did consider adding a pully and a rubber band and try that.  Not a good long term solution since I would probably have to rebuild it ever year or so... but something to look into.

Hopefully this is what you are looking for.

Gear info for Star Wars:

This info was taken from some post's here and the RGVAC.  All gears came with a hub with set screws to fasten to the pots or axle.

The big gears are the same for X and Y.
60 tooth, 24 pitch, 20deg pressure angle and a 3/4" bore.

Y axis small gear
14 tooth, 24 pitch, 20deg pressure angle and a 1/4" bore.

X axis small gear
28 tooth, 24 pitch, 20deg pressure angle and a 1/4" bore.

The recommended place is wmberg.com.  Do a search on here and I think I mentioned it once and Oscar mentioned it, maybe others?

Here's one that I mentioned.  I think I was in a hurry so double check which is which.

Ironically it's in response to Lilwolf who said no one responds to him.  :P

To shame Lilwolf, To shame.  ;)

for those interested.  I've noticed a sudden flood of yokes now that gamecab has come up with one.  Interestingly enough, the same has happened  to light guns now that act labs is offering their light guns again...

They'll be producing a new star wars-type yoke very soon.  They posted prototype pics on the main forum a couple of weeks ago.

He hasn't made an official product release date yet.  But I assume it'll be by the summer.

yeah, there is a thread on it on the main forum.  Gamecab.com  seems to be implying it will be in the near future.  The prototype looks nice and the yoke will be around $180 new.  Big bargain compared to the used ones on ebay.
