Need 4P Control Panel Template
« on: April 09, 2005, 10:44:37 pm »
Hi,
I have decided to build a desktop controller.  I have found other templates, but they each seem to have the wrong measurements.  I'm really bad at making my own and I trust you veterans more than myself.
My control panel is going to be
1p and 2p- 7 buttons
3p and 4p- 4 buttons
but I can't seem to find any good measurements for the box itself.  If someone could show me a good template, it would be really great.  Also, if someone has the templates for a seven button grid, it would help me a lot also.
Thanks

Franco

franco, any chance you can throw the file here, or mail it to me too?

Thanks.

Also, I can't think of his username right now, but his name is tom., and he's got links to this 4-p template in visio format in his signature, be on the lookout for that.

No prob jer2665. Ill send them to you now.

I would post them on the board but you can only upload pictures or PDFs.

They are AutoCAD .dwg's so you will either need a copy of AutoCAD to view them or a .dwg viewer.

You can download a free .dwg viewer from http://www.infograph.com/products/dwgviewer/DWGdownload1.asp

Does anyone know of a free hosting site where I could host the .dwg's and then I could link to them off the board?

I think, in the past, people merely rename the file to ".txt" or ".jpg" or something and upload them here with instructions to downloaders to just name them back

Thanks Jeremy.

A wee note if anyone wants to use them.

The drawing CP6 is the rough dimensions.

The drawing CP7 is where i located each control section. I printed of each section to scale and then used the co-ordinates of CP7 to place them on my cut out CP. This saved me from dimensioning every hole posistion. Up to you what you do there.

See the pic if that last bit didnt make sense (hell, the pic may not help either!)  :-\

Hope they are of some use,

Franco

Also try here:
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,33612.0.html
and merge them with these Visio templates:
http://arcadecontrols.com/arcade_downloads.shtml#JasonVisio
I used these templates, and you can see my CP in this topic after laying it all out, and doing a little Photoshop magic:
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,35058.0.html
Printed it the plain white Visio diagram to size and it works out perfectly!

Hope that helps. :)
