Wendy has no record of the finger coming from any employees working that day or any of the suppliers. So I appears she may have planted it...

Her and the people who sat with her that evening are suing Wendy's and Wendy's has full right to find out where the finger came from as they searched and they have no idea where the finger came from.

I worked at a Wendys back when I was a teenager. They make the Chili in house using left over hamburger meat that gets too overcooked to serve as burgers, so it wouldn't have anything to do with suppliers. Sounds like it was planted to me.

I'm not sure the lady will have to prove where the finger came from. I think Wendy's is screwed unless THEY can show that the lady planted it. Even if all their employees have their fingers a disgruntled employee could have put it there as a practical joke in the same way you hear stories of employees at Tacobell taking a dump in the beans. Maybe one of the employees has a sibling in medical school who works on cadavers.

I'm not saying that the lady didn't plant it herself, I'm just saying that I doubt a jury will give Wendy's the benefit of the doubt and, in fact, I doubt a jury will hear the case. Wendy's wants the public to doubt that the finger came from them, but will still settle with the diners. That's how I think it's going down.

Heck, maybe some supplier tossed his ex-wife into the meat grinder or something. Just telling the suppliers and employees to hold out their hands so we can check for missing fingers seems a bit shortsighted to me.

Somebody lost a finger someplace. I just looked around in my refrigerator and freezer, and I didn't find any of mine missing. Anybody loose one?

Where does one get a human finger anyway? If you find one on the street what should you do? Just say "oh, look there's a finger" and go on?

Where did it come from, who did it come off of and when are perfectly good CSI kinda questions. If this woman has a finger in a bowl of chili, then somebody is missing it somewhere.

For all I know it is an urban legend (crapping in beans), but it's not all that unlikely. It would certainly take a lot less work than planting a severed finger in the chili.

As for the finger, I think it is being suggested that it belongs to the woman's dead grandmother. If there is evidence suggesting this I would imagine that any judge hearing the case would order the grandmother's body exumed to make sure it didn't once belong to her.

Hush money paid by a corporation would have a nondisclosure clause in it that would require her to return the money if she talked.

What ever happened to "finders keepers"?

...OK, the finger keeping guy really is a belly crawler.

As for the Wendy's Wacko...I still can't figure out why she didn't just spill hot coffee on herself...that one always works...and no need to chop off dead relatives fingers.

Ugh. A severed finger in a bowl of Wendy's chili would actually make the chili slightly healthier.

I've known several people who've worked at Wendy's, and there are some serious horror stories about the chili they serve. Mainly the fact that they keep the unused chili from day to day and add it to the next days batch, so if they never sell out of their chili each day, you could eat a bowl that has chili from MONTHS ago in it.

That, and the employees toss rancid ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- they find on the floor into it.

Got one the other day, and after picking up the kids and their friends from bowling the other day, took 'em all. They all thought I was the bee's knees (or whatever the whippersnappers of today say about something kewl) for treating 'em to frosty's, until they got 'em.

It's nice and all, giving away free frosty's, but the size they're giving away is the "just larger than a dixie cup" one. Still, I like Wendy's, so I'll keep going.

On the plus side, there's only a small amount of the stuff that's in frosty's that you are ingesting.....makes it easier to stomach, since it won't separate before you're done eating it.

Went out to collect some rent from one of my trailers. didn't realize there were three Wendy's from here to there. Stopped by all three of them. My boy thought it was the coolest thing...

It ALWAYS makes me laugh that people associated in scams/frauds/etc, when it becomes public, they are arrested on "unrelated charges of failure to pay child support".

Yes it was a friends finger which was severed in an accident. I think they said that they bought it from him for $50.
