WTB: Replacement switches for T-Stick Plus
« on: April 07, 2005, 11:25:43 am »
Just got my T-Stick plus today, and boy do I now know what people meant by tight!  I didn't order the replacement switches because I thought I would be able to use the ones from my Happ Supers.  But alas, these switches have a "leaf" attached which mine do not.  So I am looking for 4 "softer" replacement switches for my T-Stick plus.  If you can help me out, I would greatly appriciate it.  I would get them from ultimarc, but I don't want to pay $15 for shipping of 4 switches!  Thanks in advance!

Are you saying the t-stick switches have a "leaf"?  I'm assuming you're talking about the metal bar that is angled over the top of the switch.  I replaced mine with a normal microswitch, and haven't had any degredation of gameplay.  So you might try it that way first...

Yes, I mean that angled bar at the top.  Sorry I realize now that "leaf" is a whole different ball of wax!  Did replacing yours with normal swtiches improve the "looseness" of the stick?

Yup - I put normal cherry switches in from some of my Happ pushbuttons, and put the "stiff" ones in buttons I don't use during gameplay (player start / coin button).  My fingers would hurt trying to push down a button with those stiff switches.  With the cherry switches in there, it's just about perfect.

I concur you can use cherry switches. I have some JAPANES switches with the actuating arm though if you want em. I should have 4 I can just send you if wanted.

I'm a bit confused by this. My T-Stik's microswitches do have leafs (leaves?) attached but not as long as the ones fitted to the Super's microswitches.

I'm in the same boat as you. I want some replacement switches but Ultimarc's minimum shipping cost is too high.

Well I am going to go home tonight and try my regular cherry switches.  If they don't work, then possibly we can get an order together and split the shipping.  I will keep you posted.

T-stiks and Supers have LEVERS on their switches, not leaves.

Leaf switches are two pieces of of exposed spring steel that get pushed together by the actuator on the bottom of the stick/button.

I bought my cherry microswitches with actuators from Bob when I was ordering some other stuff.  I had to cut down the actuator for them to fit on my T-Stick Plus though.
