Question for my spinner and trackball panel
« on: April 07, 2005, 08:43:29 am »
I'll be drilling out my layout today for my spinner and trackball panel, on my rotating control panel mechanism. Before I bore the holes through the wood I wanted to ask if there were any games aside from Tron that require a joystick to be used with a trackball or a spinner. As it stands I have planned for a spinner, a trackball, two mouse buttons, and three buttons on the panel. I'm not a big Tron fan, but are there any other games off the top of your heads which require a joystick on the panel?

If there are I'll make room for one. If there aren't I'll go with my current layout.

I know that forgotten worlds does.  I also believe there is at least one more in the series of this game.

Mad Planets does as well, and it's a cool enough game to go through the trouble imo.

MAd planets is AWSOME!  Thing is I bet that lots of people dont even know that you can spin the ship around with the spinner.  I think mame just has it marked as 8-wayjoy even tho the spinner does work.  Fun game tho.   ;D

The year I went to CGE in Vegas they had one of these out on free play.  Right then and there was when I decided that I needed to build a controller capable of playing this game.  Of course, I'm still working on that, but I'm finally ordering parts so I should be playing relatively soon.

Aztarac, very cool vector game.  Needs trigger stick & spinner.
