I want to build my own arcade controls!
Button won't stay pressed.

Hey guys.
I've got one button my control panel that just won't stay 'on' ? I mean.. If I run keyscan (a program that displays a keyboard and shows which button corresponds to which key on the keyboard) I can press and hold all of my buttons and they stay pressed down... but one of the buttons when I push it down just registers briefly on keyscan and is off again.. despite the fact that I'm still holding down the button.
Excuse my poor terminology here. Hopefully someone can understand what I'm asking!
Thanks!
David

Usually, thats a wiring problem. Try taking the two wires attached to that button and holding them together with your hands. Does the button "stay pressed"?

Or just try a different switch...
Check the wiring like cholin said, if it shows as "staying pressed" while the wires' ends are connected, you probably have a bad switch.
Have fun!

Yes. I repaced the microswitch and now it works fine.
I must have had a bad batch of buttons and microswitches.. three in total out of the thirty didn't work.
