I checked the BYO Kit page and could not see where the USB adapter is included.   Did I miss it?  It is still listed as a $29.95 adapter.  They say they include a USB connector but there is no evidence of one on their interface board as it has only the serial connector and the PS/2 pass thru.  They actually conect the USB adapter to their serial port.

Please point me in the right direction if I missed it.

Thanks
BobA

I saw it written on the page. Its in BOLD under the "what's included" heading on that link above. $59.95 total for the package. Follow the link.

It includes the USB adapter, it says so right under the "Add to Cart" button: "Includes USB & PS/2 Connector!".

Is the USB adapter a custom designed part, or are you OEMing a IPac/GPWiz/etc?

What are the details of the encoder? (number of inputs?, shift button?, poll speed? method of attaching wires to the encoder? etc)

Custom designed by X-arcade, AFAIK, Ultimarc and GGG ARE the OEM's for all their encoders, AKAIK.

http://www.mameworld.net/tigerheli/encoder/

28 inputs, 4 codesets, no shiftbutton, poll speed (generally unknown for any encoder), pin header.

Biggest advantage is the ability to use different adapters to hook it up to console systems.

XGaming been using their own USB adapters built for the X-Arcade's for a long time now. Now they are simply including it for free.

Any chance XGaming might sell just the wiring harness? Mine had an accident at one of the connectors so I ended up having to cut it out and replacing it with an IPAC cause I couldn't find the little connectors. Sure would be nice to put the old encoder back to work :)

I wanted to add a joystick to my single player unit so I called and asked to buy the wiring harness.  They FLAT OUT REFUSED to sell me one.  Then they didn't e-mail me the return authorization I asked for so I could return my single player unit.

I don't see the rationale for refusing to sell me a wiring harness.  They obviously sell them bundled with the encoder.  I already had the encoder, I just needed the wiring harness.  Their attitude (and lying to me about how they would e-mail me a return authorization) led to me purchasing an Ipac4 and a GP-WIZ and vowing to never buy another X-Arcade product.

My bad eye sight or understanding.

X Arcade BYO Kits do include the adapter as confirmed by X Arcade.

Good info miahxgaming I assume you work for X Arcade or they monitor this board closely as now the Included info does specify that it connects to PS/2 and USB instead of just saying USB connector.
Or maybe they read your E-mail!

When you find out, please let me know.  I have "guessed" what connector it is twice and ordered from MOUSER.  Now I have two sets of incorrect size Molex connectors.

The last ones I got were Molex P/N 22-01-2057  These are described as .100 K. K. Connectors.  The .100 pin spacing is correct, however these connectors are just a little too "fat" to fit in the female header.

Their was an alternate version of this connector that has "locking tabs" which might actually be the correct one.  I just lost the heart to keep blindly buying connectors for a P.O.S. encoder.

Having said that, I am still going to use it if you can find the right connector, so GOOD LUCK!
