Happ Left / Right Hand Grip Question

Does anyone know details on these Happ grips http://www.happcontrols.com/joysticks/50250800.htm ?

Specifically they are mentioned as a replacement part for Sarge, Space Lords, Stun Runner, etc.  Sarge would require the joystick shaft to go in through the bottom.  Stun Runner's fastens on at the side like Star Wars.  Does the grips require cutting the appropriate holes?  The picture on Happ's site doesn't show holes on the sides.

I'd want to mount them to joys so would want the hole in the bottom.
