Aluminum Ball-top replacement for Ms. Pac / Galaga reuinion

Please raise your hand if you own a Ms. Pacman/Galaga Reunion joystick.

Is this stick not popular?  I would think it would be at least as popular with arcade enthusiasts as the P360, yet nobody who makes handle replacements supports it.  RandyT, from what I understand, has some minimal support with his height-adjustable handles, but even in its shortest mode it is much taller than the original shaft.

It seems to me that the vast majority of people who own this stick either have it mounted in a metal control panel, or are using a metal mounting plate to mount it in a wood panel.  Either way replacement handles should be no longer than the originals.

I'd really like to replace all of my handles with some black aluminum ones from SlikStik, but until I can replace all of them, I don't see the point in replacing any of them.  Right now my panel looks normal, but if I replace all the handles except one, that one is going to be an eyesore.

I'd guess the Perfect 360 might[/b] be a better seller overall due to lots of arcade operators using them in fighting cabs and so on.  But arcade operators are not going to put stainless steel or anodized aluminum replacement handles on their machines.

For the type of people who own their own arcade cabinet, I would think that the vast majority are at least as concerned with accurately reproducing a classic 4-way than having a silent 8-way.  I would guess that replacement handles of the right height for the Ms. Pac stick would be a big seller.

Betson sells a Qix/Space Invaders joystick which is (apparently) the same as the MsPac reunion stick with a balltop shaft that's tall enough for a wooden CP.

Either way (I was actually under the impression that the super handles would fit) they wouldn't be the right height.  I have a wooden control panel, but my Ms. Pac stick is mounted in a metal mounting plate so it is no different than if I had a metal control panel.  I think that's how most owners of this stick have it installed if they are using wooden control panels.  If I install a replacement handle meant for a wooden control panel it will be too tall.  If I install a handle meant for a Super it will be too tall.  I want any replacement handle to be the same height, or very nearly the same height as the original handle.

Thanks for the info, though.  It may be useful to others.

Don't Slikstik's balltops screw onto the shaft?

Why not just cut the top of the shaft to get whatever length you want and rethread it?
