Just found a link to this auction on April 10th. 22 games for sale.
Thought some might be interested.

I was surprised when I saw "clinton missouri" and "auction" mentioned together. When I saw the lame list that they had THEN I wasn't surprised. Typical small town "fun center" Other than HOTD and Stun Runner there wasn't much in the way of cool arcade stuff. I'm not surprised that whatever business had all that stuff had to go out of business. I hope now they can at least recoup some of the cash they probly owe.

Mahuti, it's like you let a ray of sunshine in on an otherwise dreary day. Thank you.

However, it lacked your usual "yawn". I'm sure with a little effort, you can add the yawn and all of your posts will be like Hershey Kisses surrounded by cotton candy held by the Care Bear "Luv Alot" as they tumble like sweet, sweet happiness from the sky.

I happen to love Clinton Missouri. I know we have a few BYOAC members in Springfield. Just jet up highway 13 and let us know if you nab anything.

I'm not sure I would put Clinton in the "I Love it category". I would "love" to have a Lucky & Wild, or maybe the HOTD. Unfortunately I have spent my game quota for this year.

Clinton does have a great place to ride ATVs. Deepwater is just South of there, and is a favorite mudhole of mine. Good riding if you are into that sort of thing. And only a long hour away from me :)

Oh and "yawn and stuff" ;)

I'm from KC and got my degree from SMSU... the old fogies in my family live down in Gainesville, Theodosia, and elsewhere in Ozark county.... so... I have  a soft spot in my heart for Missouri highway towns. I always especially liked Clinton because it had a Dairy Queen and was about the right distance to make the first stop on the trip from KC to Gainesville (5 hour drive....about once a month througought my entire youth.) I basically thought of it as Dairy Queen or "you know, the place past harrisonville?" That DQ was the first place I ever saw Donkey Kong. I played it and loved it... though my mom and I were really confused at the name. At the time I just figured the donkeys were on the next level.

I wouldn't doubt if I saw that "fun center" in the past while rocketing home from college thinking "I should stop there mmm.... mm next time" Dang... if I would have just spent $2.50 each time I rolled through, they might have been able to get an extra redemption game... save the business, farm, put the kids through school. I'm a terrible person.

Mahuti,

When did you graduate from SMSU? I am from the 88-92 era - Industrial Tech major.

I would like to share your responsibility for putting Ma and Pa Clinton out in the cold, but I passed through there about one every 4 years until recently. The burden you have for their demise is yours alone :'(

WHICH Clinton is this? There are TWO Clinton, MO's

One of them is within reasonable driving range for me, the other is not.

Although even if it is the close one I am not sure is I want to spend 4 hours drive time (round trip) and spend $35 in gas to MAYBE buy a game. There are only a few REAL games there that aren't redemption or gigantor, I imagine competition will be heavy for them, especially being new enough to reasonably put in your restaurant or bar.

Bah, 470 mile round trip. $70 in gas, 6.5 hours total drive time. I would have to be guaranteed to pick up one of those games for $100 to go out for that one.

I spend a considerable amount of time in Joplin... not anytime near the time of that auction, though. Bummer, I'd love a S.T.U.N. Runner someday.

Same deal for me.  I heard that and was ready to jump.  484 miles round trip though.  Are you in STL?

In that case, want to buy a cabinet? I have one I want gone by this weekend. I want to clear the space it is sitting in, in case I am able to buy a dedicated Neo Geo 2 slot at the auction.

It is a complete non-working Chicago Coin "Tv Olympic Hockey". In nice shape. Looks like this.

http://www.arcadeflyers.net/?page=flyerdb&subpage=flyer&id=2462&image=1

$20 if you pick it up before saturday.

I can deliver it too,  but I'll need gas money.

I originally sold it on ebay for $20 and another BYOAC bought it, but when he came up he ended up buying the working Pong clone I had in my living room instead.

Sorry to hi-jack, Paige, you are going to the auction this weekend?   Let me know so we can meet up there if you need anything brought back for ya.  I still want the chicken machine too.

I would love to pick that game up, unfortunately, I am having enough issues of storage at the moment as well.  Otherwise I would definately pick it up.  Now I am tempted to try to head down to the auction as well.  Unfortunately I know the games I want to pick up will be some of the more saught after titles since they are newer.  Ohh well, there will be other auctions.

I'll be driving my new (old) Suburban, so I should be fine on space. I SHOULD be able to bring the chicken machine with me without a problem, I also have to bring a Super Hang on, but with all the seats out of the thing I should be able to take them both with room to spare.

I wish i could have gone.  I'm on hwy 13 but north of there.   I'm  out of space anyway though.  speaking of which   I need to get rid of some stuff including my stunrunner and pacman.  I've got some cabs for mame too.   The Pole Pos is going to meet Mr Sledgehammer in the very near future for sure this time.
