Marquees from QuarterArcade
« on: April 01, 2005, 08:15:00 am »
Has anyone here bought marquees from QuarterArcade?  I was thinking of buying a couple and they refuse to take photos of what your buying, so I am a little worried.  These are going to be pieces that I use for artwork in my home/office and would like decent quality.

Thanks.

I haven't bought anything from them but I have been looking through their stuff.  I think it's weird that they won't send you a pic. ???

Do they not want to sell their stuff?

I'd be interested in peoples experience with this company.  -or- does anyone have a link to a competitor with this amount of parts?

There is a reason why they will not provide pics.  They have been caught so many time reproducing marquees without a license or they are making copies.  They don't know who you are so that is why they are not sending pics.

I sent an email saying I was willing to purchase 5 marquees if only I could see what I was buying.  This was their response.

"I wish we had the time to do pictures of each individual marquee, but those
sales are very small part of your business and frankly we don't make much
money on them.  We sell a few a week and I've never had anyone else ask us
for exact pictures.  I think we've only had one return in the past two years
because of the condition we described.

I completely understand if you choose not to purchase,"

Oh well, onto eBay.   :-\

I bought a Pac-man and Ms Pac-man marquee from them via ebay. There were picturesa though. They were just as described and they shipped them quickly. I was satisfied.

Anthony at Quarter Arcade is good to deal with. He describes his stuff accurately.

His main business is selling restored machines. So, marquees are pretty small stuff profit-wise. I doubt if he's making copies of marquees
