How do you remove road blasters grips?
« on: March 28, 2005, 03:28:30 pm »
I can get the 2 screws out of the grip but there is a metal ring/rivet in between them that I can't get out.  Anyone have suggestions on this?  Thanks

Look closely, there may be tiny holes in which there are tiny screws requiring a hex wrench...

You should also look for the Road Blasters manual online. Atari usually includes complete parts lists with diagrams.

There's a roll pin between the two screws that has to be driven out. Actually you drive it further in till it falls into the grip shaft. Expect to fix the wiring, odds are pretty good you'll cut a wire doing so.

You need a punch of the proper diameter and a hammer to remove the roll pin. .

It should be a 3/16" pin punch, provided it's the same as the Star Wars Yokes.
I just punched two out tonight.
Home Depot has a pin punch set for $12.98, or so.
